The Fire Learning Network
Objetives: To provide a hands-on tranining experience to fire practitioners from different backgrounds, disciplines and origings, about fire as a natural process in ecosystems and to use it as a tool to manage forest fuels and the risk of fire in the landscape, organized under an Incident Command System structure, while sharing experiences and knowledge with other local and international fire pratitioners.
Specific objectives:

To know and identify fire use techniques used rural communities in the mountains of Alto Minho, for the renewal of pastures, hunting activities and protection of forest fires hazards.

To increase the knowledge of fire professionals as a landscape management tool for Nature Conservation and integrated wildfire prevention and control.

To broaden the fire practitioners knowledge and experience in basic concepts of safety, fire behavior, planning and implementation of prescribed burns and fire impacts on the ecosystems.

To exchange experiences and knowledge among participants from different backgrounds and origins.
